• a person having a short term mobility issue from an accident or surgery can be supplied with mobility and other equipment that will allow them to join others on a trip otherwise missed or cancelled

• scooters provide a great solution for those who tire easily, are slow-walkers, or are unable to walk long distances on tours and cruise ships

• any person who requires a walker, rollator, or wheel chair at home no longer has to bring it along... it is provided for you on your cruise ship or other destination

• individuals who use mobility equipment at home that is not easlily transportable now have no worries... whatever equipment they need will be waiting for them when they arrive at their cruise ship or destination

• vets or others having significant mobility issues that require power chairs are also provided for

ACCESSING EQUIPMENT FOR YOUR CRUISE OR VACATION

Can I "do it myself"?  Not advised.

What will lead to a vacation or cruise "happy outcome" is not special needs equipment per se... rather it is special needs equipment that is matched to the needs and travel itinerary of the special needs traveler.

Only a professional travel agent cross-trained as a SNG Certified Specialist has the knowledge to reliably match the correct equipment with a traveler's special needs itinerary.

THE SPECIAL NEEDS TRAVEL PLANNING PROCESS:

Planning special needs travel can range from a moderately challenging project... to a highly complex planing process.  In either event, the special needs traveler is best adivised to engage a professional when planning travel.  Currently there are less than 1,000 travel agencies having a SNG Certification (in the world).  CM TRAVEL 4FUN is proud to have this certification and the training that goes with it.   Without it, we could not help those with special needs access the world of travel.

BEGIN:

When you are ready to get into the travel mode... start by contacting Neal at CM TRAVEL 4FUN.  Neal will act both as your travel planner and your special-needs-equipment advisor during the travel planning process.

During the first conversation there will be a dicussion of the special needs and challenges you face each day.  Here you will  "educate" Neal on the challenges you face... and how you currently meet those challenges at home, work, and play.  This will give Neal a clear idea of the type of special needs that will have to be accommodated during your travel.

NOW THE FUN BEGINS! 

This is the time you will work with Neal to create an outline of what will be your dream travel plan.  We will define the all of the components of the general travel plan including:  the desired length of your trip, the dates you are available to travel, who is traveling with you, and many other details... all of which must be defined before proceeding.  

At this point Neal reviews the plan and does a reality check regarding what you plan to do (and the time you can set aside to do it.).. verses the projected travel time required to do all you want to do - given your special needs requirements.  Once this is evaluated and any indicated time issues resolved, the formal planning process can begin in earnest. 

AT THIS POINT WE NEED TO DISCUSS COSTS...

Due to the large time investment in the next steps of this process, you will be charged a non-refundable planning deposit which will be applied toward your total trip costs... if you actually travel... else if you do not travel - the planning deposit will be forfeited.  The deposit amount will varies based upon the complexity of the travel plan, number of people traveling, number of days of travel, destination(s) visited, planned activities at those destination(s), and other factors.  The minimum planning deposit is $200.00 (and may be more).  One other note regarding deposits... a non-refundable planning deposit is required for each special needs person in your travel group.  This is because Neal has to design a person-specific travel plan (and equipment set) for each special needs person traveling.

NOW NEAL WILL:

• research all available travel vendors who can (and will) support all of your travel and personal needs
• consult with various equipment experts to create a recommended equipment package that will support your needs for the trip plan envisioned
• compare and contrast the options available and submit bid requests from the vendors for one or more options
• summarize the different package options (and costs) including any vendor suggested adds or changes to your proposed itinerary.

TIME FOR YOUR INPUT

Now Neal shares with you the details of the proposed trip plan and the costs for same.  If all looks good to you... and/or if you wish to make minor changes before proceeding, the process will continue on to the next step.  However, if the options presented are not acceptable to you, we will discuss possible alternative travel plans that are acceptable to you... and also feasible for Neal to create.  At this point... if major changes are requested... and significant time is required to make those changes, an additional planning deposit may be requested.

TIME TO SPEND MORE $$ TO FINALIZE THE BOOKING RESERVATIONS! 

At this point you have a defined travel plan at a known final cost.  Now you will place a travel deposit (or possibly pay in full) all vendors requiring payment to hold, guarantee, and/or finalize your reservations. 

TRAVEL INSURANCE

After your travel plan has been deposited, you will be provided with travel insurance options.  After securing your travel insurance policy...  all that will be left to do is wait with anticipation... for that magic day of departure!
